Silicone structural sealant | Structural Adhesives and Sealants in Engineering
Door and window projects, curtain wall projects, steel structure projects, etc., all use structural adhesives and sealants in large quantities. How to distinguish and use them?
Silicone structural sealant for construction (silicone structural adhesive), divided into one-component and two-component, high strength, can withstand large loads, and is resistant to aging, fatigue, corrosion, and performance within the expected life. Stable adhesive suitable for strong structural bonding.
Silicone construction sealants, namely silicone sealant (SR) and modified silicone sealant (MS), are divided into two types: single-component (I) and multi-component (II), which deform with the shape of the sealing surface , It is not easy to flow, has a certain adhesiveness, has the functions of anti-leakage, waterproof, anti-vibration, sound insulation, heat insulation, etc. It is an adhesive used to fill the configuration gap to play a sealing role.

Application difference:
1. For sealant:
1), suitable for weather-resistant sealing of various curtain walls, especially recommended for weather-resistant sealing of glass curtain walls, aluminum-plastic panel curtain walls, and stone dry hanging;
2), seam sealing between metal, glass, aluminum, ceramic tile, plexiglass, and coated glass;
3), seam sealing of concrete, cement, masonry, rock, marble, steel, wood, anodized aluminum and painted aluminum surfaces. Primer is not required in most cases;
4) Widely used in the sealing of construction, transportation, electronic instruments and parts.

2. For structural adhesive:
1), mainly used for structural or non-structural bonding assembly between metal and glass of glass curtain wall;
2) It can directly connect the glass with the surface of metal components to form a single assembly component, which meets the design requirements of fully hidden or semi-hidden frame curtain wall;
3) Structural bonding and sealing of insulating glass;
4) The structural adhesive has high strength, peeling resistance, impact resistance, and simple construction process. It is used for bonding metal, ceramics, plastics, rubber, wood and other same materials or between different materials. It can partially replace traditional connection forms such as welding, riveting and bolting;
5) The stress distribution of the joint surface is uniform, and there is no thermal influence and deformation on the parts;
6), mainly used for the reinforcement, anchoring, bonding, repairing, etc. of components; such as bonding steel, bonding carbon fiber, planting reinforcement, crack reinforcement, sealing, hole repair, road stud sticking, surface protection, concrete bonding, etc.
